In 1981, in the vibrant city of Penang, Malaysia, Mr. Oi Ho Chooi founded Dynapharm with a bold vision: to improve the quality of life for people everywhere through the finest natural health products. Rooted in centuries of traditional Asian herbal wisdom — Ganoderma (Lingzhi mushroom), Tongkat Ali, Spirulina, Chlorophyll — Mr. Oi set out to make these time-honoured ingredients accessible, affordable, and convenient.
From the beginning, Dynapharm’s approach combined the best of tradition and modernity. Traditional ingredients valued for centuries in Chinese, Malay, and Southeast Asian wellness practices were formulated into modern product formats — tablets, capsules, powders, beverages, and personal care products. In 1990, the company moved to its current GMP-certified manufacturing premises, cementing its commitment to international quality standards.
In 1995, Dynapharm entered the world of person-to-person selling through network marketing, opening the door for individuals everywhere to share its products and build their own businesses. What started as one man’s dream in Penang grew into an international wellness company. Today, Dynapharm’s product catalogue spans over 90 items across eight categories, reaching communities in more than 40 countries.

In 2005, through the vision and determination of Ms Esther Ampumuza, Dynapharm arrived in Africa — marking a defining chapter in the company’s story. Africa — a continent rich in natural healing traditions and entrepreneurial energy — proved to be a natural fit for Dynapharm’s mission.
Ms Ampumuza recognised that African communities have long valued natural remedies, herbal preparations, and holistic approaches to wellbeing. Dynapharm’s products, rooted in similar philosophies from across Asia, resonated deeply with this heritage.
But Dynapharm brought more than products. Through its network marketing model, the company offered something equally valuable: a genuine business opportunity. In markets where formal employment can be scarce and entrepreneurial spirit runs deep, Dynapharm gave individuals a path to financial independence — requiring no formal qualifications, no large investment, and no previous business experience.
Today, Dynapharm Africa operates across the continent through independent franchises and a growing network of Distribution Point Centres (DPCs) — local wellness hubs that serve their communities with products, training, and support.
